This poem are about a buffer zone that were aroused by this war, to fight people he does non dislike, and he know that the ones he guard he dont love them but feel it is his documentation of indebtedness to serve his country and he will suffocate for his country. He didnt decide to become a pilot because of consoling crowds, he is doing this for himself, for that feeling he feels deep inwardly(a) when he is all alone just him and his fighting plane. He knows if he considers his fate today, and die, this wont dumbfound them loss. He writes this poem stating that he became an Airman because he asked to, not to delight someone, and that this war is nothing like a iniquity to him he loves what he does an d are ok with the fact the he piece of tail die among the clouds above. 2. When he says: No presumable end could bring them loss or leave them happier than originally. To him it seems that it doesnt military issue to anybody whether he is alive or dead. He thinks that what he does doesnt make any carry on on anyone. When he says that no one begged him or agonistic him to fight, nor any cheering crowds do him fight but something inside him an impulse of delight make him fight. He is doing this for himself. William didnt want any praise for what he did for his country. When he makes the statement that; The eld to come seemed waste of breath, a waste of breath the age behind. He knew that he was going to die and did not care about the years to come or the years that has passed. He only lived for the hr and day. 3. It is William Butler Yeats himself. When he says; I know I shall meet my fate he is referring to himself. When he makes the statement th at the people he fights he doesnt hate them ! and the people he protects he doesnt love them.
